Team Shake was founded on two principles, making new friends on XBOX LIVE and enjoying those friendships that was created as a cause of it. The idea to form a clan to streamline friends online activity together came about in July of 2008. Those friends, and original founders of Team Shake were WIKKED FLIPIT (TS WIKKED) and girlski (Team Shake Founder ret.). Over those next five months Team Shake gained momentum that nobody saw, reaching over 75 people, the founders realized that it was time to make the Team Shake Clan a reality.
With 75 members and gaining, the need to create an open line of communication, and coordination between everyone became a necessity. Team Shake's only supported game at the time was Halo 3 so Team Shake decided to create an official clan on December 12, 2008 via bungie.net. This became Team Shakes official birth and Halo became Team Shakes flagship game. During this time TS WIKKED uploaded pictures to Bungie as a way to spruce up his profile (http://halo.bungie.net/Stats/Halo3/FileSets.aspx?set=74236) and increase viewership, this also helped to increase the Team Shake ranks. Early on in Team Shake's foundation a rivalry was quickly formed. In the pictures you can see that there was another clan that TS WIKKED was tagging, KSI. KSI (Killing Service Incorporated), was considered one of the top gaming clans at the time and the top Halo clan during Halo 2's life. Following the creation of the official clan, in late February of 2009, Team Shake began to migrate to a more competitive clan competing in game battles. At this time, it became apparent that Team Shake was a force to be reckoned with. Multiple times Team Shake would challenge KSI and every official clan battle that occurred between the two clans Team Shake is proud to say they never lost. In under a year, Team Shake had its foundation and top 300 ranking within MLG's gamebattles.com. Where Team Shake succeeded was with a community of over 100 players with each one great, ready to compete, and loyal to the clan and to the game. Sadly, KSI a clan of close to 30,000 members, would add any and everyone and on multiple accounts players from KSI were banned from XBOX LIVE for cheating and modding. To this day, Team Shake remains their most hated rival and TS WIKKED is a curse to their organization. Also, at this time it was decided that to better reach everyone, squads were created and members within ranks were promoted to become squad leaders. Squad 1, 2, and 3, with silverfoxx, mikeruston21 (TS ZMBI KILLER active/ret.), and awwyeason, respectfully, led the charge. Each squad consisted of at least 30 members and the competition was intense. With this intensity you might occasionally see issues within the ranks, and Team Shake wasn't immune to them by any means.
The first ripple in the current, came in April of 2009, a young member by the name of CrashNBurn145 was unhappy with the clan and decided it was time for a change. When Team Shake was founded, they also decided that as a clan it would be smart to have a very simple set of rules that all members needed to agree to, to become a member. These rules mirrored the XBOX LIVE Code of Conduct, and are the same rules that Team Shake maintains now. CrashNBurn145 (AVATAR STUDMAN at the time) could not adhere to the CoC and had decided that after joining Team Shake, this clan might not be the one for him. TS WIKKED was forced to kick him for repeatedly undermining the vision that Team Shake had. CrashNBurn145 later formed a clan of his own with one of the rules being "don't like Team Shake"(http://www.bungie.net/7_Re-Awakened-/en/Groups/Detail?groupId=7217), sadly with only 5 members his clan did not survive. This was the first time Team Shake was tested as a clan and is a testament to the loyalty of the members that Team Shake survived. This however, wouldn't be the last time Team Shake was to be tested.
During 2009, Team Shake did several things to reach out to additional players and attempt to increase our ranks. Team Shake created a MySpace page (https://myspace.com/12goteamshake) and its first website (http://teamshake.angelfire.com/). Both were successful attempts to gain members and advertise the clan. The clan also agreed to increase the games it supported and a new squad was created to show this change. Squad 4 was created and former Team Shake member Chaosqueen was placed in charge and Gears of War was the newly supported game. Chaosqueen once put in charge decided to cut ties with Team Shake and create her own clan shortly after. As sad as it was to lose her and the people that joined her clan, it showed Team Shake that they could indeed support more than one game, and with a solid foundation that is exactly what Team Shake decided to do. At this time, Team Shake had the rank and structure you are familiar with now but in late 2009, another ripple in the current would test Team Shake harder than ever before, and eventually re-shape Team Shake completely.
Over the course of 2009, Team Shake had thoroughly enjoyed competitive gaming, but as the year came to a close there were conflicting interests on how Team Shake would continue and already the number of members had dropped from over 100 to around 40 total members. TS WIKKED, for a number of reasons, decided to step down, this caused many other members to leave the clan as well. The departure of TS WIKKED left many members looking for new clans that shared some of the same ideals that Team Shake had been founded on. With TS WIKKED leaving, TS ZMBI KILLER took over as the leader of Team Shake and subsequently changed the name to Elite Gamer Society (E.G.S.). With this change, TS ZMBI KILLER decided to take the clan into a new direction deciding to do away with the rank structure and make the clan a much more leisure community. The positives of this newly organized clan included friends able to play casually together, stay in contact easily and at the same time not have to worry about skill. But, with these changes over time members realized that maybe some of the original structure and principles might be more beneficial to the clan. One member in particular is credited for lobbying for the return of TS WIKKED, known back then as sofaraway320 (TS Own Carnage), TS Own Carnage was one of the original members and has been loyal to the clan since the beginning. The real question was would TS WIKKED come back to the clan he helped create?
TS WIKKED did indeed agree to return to the clan he co-founded and bring the clan to its former glory. In April of 2010, TS WIKKED was put in charge, and his first order of business was to re-establish the name, Team Shake was re-instated and the structure was also returned. With this "Second Generation" of members, the structure that so many members wanted saw TS WIKKED, TS ZMBI KILLER and roseangle1128 credited as the new founders. During this time, Team Shake saw its first merger with another clan, LDE. LDE (Last Ditch Effort), was primarily a Call of Duty: Black Ops clan, with a rank in the top ten on gamebattles.com, its members saw the success of Team Shake and after seeing what Team Shake stood for decided to join with them. This addition saw several prominent members emerge to include TS Traumatize (ret.) who was the LDE leader, TS Army Strong and Insanity Watch, who were both high ranking members within LDE and Bonezthemonkey, all who helped form and shape the current polices that you see today. This 2.0 clan also saw an opportunity to increase its roster of only 7 by creating a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/teamshake/) as well as a fresh new website (http://www.teamshake.org/) on July 13, 2012. Within 5 months, Team Shake also had its first website review (http://www.clannation.org/clanreviews/m/9629796/article/1150088/tag/team+Shake) receiving a 9/10. With all the success that 2012 provided to Team Shake it also saw its fair share of obstacles.
The year 2012 was the year that proved that Team Shake could truly withstand anything, early on TS Mexikaner, was unhappy with a former member and decided to leave Team Shake. TS Brutal MTN and TS Mexikaner were not seeing eye to eye when it came to the clan and it was beginning to affect their friendship. TS Brutal MTN left Team Shake to join HpG, a clan that to this day Team Shake refuses to associate with. HpG (Hollow Point Gaming), began threatening Team Shake members with bans and insults, they attempted to undermine Team Shake by trying to recruit members from within Team Shake, however, they failed. Even after Team Shake reached out to its admin team to resolve the issues between the two clans, no solution was ever established. TS Mexikaner also decided to leave the clan, while he was away he formed his own clan, Team Meatwad. Using what he had learned from Team Shake, TS Mexikaner, was able to recruit with ease, accumulating over 40 members in just one month. Over that time, the reason that TS Mexikaner left was resolved, with the time away from Team Shake proving to heal all wounds. With that being said, Team Shake decided to challenge TS Mexikaner to a clan battle. Team Shake wanted TS Mexikaner back, so the conditions of the battle were simple, the winning team would absorb the other. The game was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Team Shake crushed Team Meatwad, respectfully, and the rest is history. TS Mexikaner was made a squad leader and everyone within his clan joined Team Shake as part of the deal. Sadly, the cracks in the foundation were still there, and after the return of TS Mexikaner, several members of the original LDE clan decided to leave. As 2012 came to a close another influential member decided to leave and start his own clan, TS Own Carnage. TS Own Carnage was a member since the beginning, credited as helping to shape Team Shake 2.0 with the return of TS WIKKED and creator of several videos early in Team Shakes life. TS Own Carnage's new clan took a few members from Team Shake and seemed to be going well for the time. As influential members were coming and going Team Shake grew quite shaky at the close of 2012. The real question was, would Team Shake survive all of the changes in leadership? Team Shake was founded to bring friends together, but at this time it seemed that it was pulling friends apart. 2013 was a new year, would it be a new clan as well?
The year of 2013 started off with a bang, despite the hindrances of 2012, the leadership within Team Shake was strong. TS WIKKED had seen issues like this before, but this was a testament to his leadership, a strong admin team, and loyal members that Team Shake survived. Team Shake 3.0 really saw its beginning in 2013 with the return of TS Own Carnage and the members of LDE that had left also returning. Members credited with bringing Team Shake through the fire and really pushing them towards success included TS Mexikaner, TS Pikachu, TS ZMBI KILLER, TS Beast Hog, and TS WIKKED. By February, Clan Nation awarded a certified Clan certificate to Team Shake (http://www.clannation.org/cccn), which was a significant stepping stone for Team Shake, by April Team Shake won the award for "Best Multi-Gaming Clan", and TS WIKKED was awarded "Clan Leader Of The Year". New leaders within Team Shake emerged with fresh ideas. Opportunities to recruit were high, Team Shake was at roughly 150 members and growing. In September, ClanReviews.com decided to interview the leader of Team Shake, TS WIKKED (http://clanreviews.com/clan-interview-team-shake/). Team Shake was given the opportunity to absorb another clan as well towards the end of 2013, Hell Hounds Clan. This clan was a clan whose leader had left in October, stranding the rest of the clan. Hell Hounds was a friendly clan that had done competitions with TS. Seeing Hell Hounds in a state of disarray Team Shake put out an offer. Team Shake offered Hell Hounds a place at the TS table, giving them their own squad and promoting one of their own (Vigita77) as their squad commander. With all the success that Team Shake was having in 2013, they were bound to hit a bump eventually, sadly Hell Hounds loyalty to their former clan restricted them from complying with the rules of Team Shake and after about six weeks, members of Hell Hounds decided to depart on good terms. 2014 has seen continuing success for Team Shake with another interview to promote the clan (http://www.clannation.org/claninterviews/m/21518638/page/3), another year of certification and a second year in a row of being the "Best Multi-Gaming Clan", and also winning Best GTA Gaming Clan. Team Shake has begun its migration to the XBOX ONE while still supporting the XBOX 360, members within the clan are attempting to reach other mediums with the potential creation of a Team Shake group on STEAM for the PC.
Team Shake started as an idea, became a clan, and has survived five years of gaming, competitions and enemies. Team Shake member loyalties are unfounded, it is what has helped to keep TS alive, it has helped members connect across the globe and gives everyone a sense of belonging. Through its five years Team Shake has always maintained its two principles, making new friends on XBOX LIVE and enjoying those friendships that was created as a cause of it. Team Shake will continue to be the clan that gamers will migrate to for a great gaming experience and friendships. Our motto is simple, but recognized, and when you see it, just know that you are in for a good night of gaming. Join us, joke with us, and play with us. Here's to another 5 years and beyond. 1, 2, Go Team Shake!!
